As well as attending the upcoming 2019 One Young World Summit, scholarship recipients will receive individual coaching from senior Johnson & Johnson leaders to further develop their aspiration, strategy and/or initiatives

George Nkhoma Registered Nurse Midwife, Chitipa District Hospital, Malawi

George Nkhoma is a Registered Nurse Midwife licensed by the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi with extensive experience in Midwifery. He is currently a nurse midwife officer, safe motherhood coordinator and maternity unit Matron at Chitipa district hospital and the secretary general for the Association of Malawian Midwives with six years of clinical experience.

George is passionate about reproductive health and desires to enhance a positive motherhood/parenthood experience. Having been born from a woman who died giving birth to him, saving lives is his passion. George possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Midwifery from Mzuzu University.

“I believe I am an instrument for advocacy and capacity development to advance positive and enabling environment for access, utilization and optimization of healthcare for all, specifically vulnerable populations like mothers, new-borns and adolescents.”
