Empowering Change
on the frontlines of health

The Ihangane Project (TIP) achieves lasting improvements in health outcomes, beginning in Rwanda, by promoting community-driven innovation within national health systems. TIP envisions a world in which high quality healthcare leads to healthy, empowered, and inclusive communities. Products developed with communities are standardized, tested in new communities to ensure replicable impact, and shared with the Ministry of Health to improve national implementation strategies. TIP’s two signature innovations are E-Heza, a user-center designed digital health record, and Aheza, a social enterprise that reduces childhood malnutrition by ensuring access to low-cost fortified porridge.

The Ihangane Project is a new partner of the J&J Secondment Program. This year, one J&J employee will take on a Lion Secondment to support the NGO on a part-time, virtual strategic advisory assignment (20%, 4 months) to provide guidance for E-Heza’s (a user-center designed digital health record) strategic growth, which will include a review of existing work, an assessment of critical gaps, evaluation of their business model and recommendations for next steps.
