MomConnect and NurseConnect
Under the leadership and stewardship of the National Department of Health in South Africa and a group of committed partners (one of them being Johnson & Johnson), has developed MomConnect – a platform that serves approximately 65% of women in South Africa. MomConnect empowers new and expectant mothers to seek the care they need by leveraging the widespread use of mobile phones in South Africa.

A companion to the MomConnect programme, NurseConnect uses mobile technology to support nurses and midwives working in maternal health, child health and family planning across South Africa.

Praekelt is a new partner of the J&J Secondment Program. This year, two J&J change makers will use their talent for good to support the NGO in the field of Digital Health in order to develop a branding strategy for HealthConnect. Our secondees will develop a strategy to strengthen the impact and ensure sustainability of the HealthConnect program.
