Empowering Change
on the frontlines of health

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive, recover, and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. At work today in over 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities, we restore safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure. The IRC leads the way from harm to home, working across five outcome areas: economic wellbeing, education, health, power and safety. We are a global leader among humanitarian organizations, both in terms of health sector response as well as work in women’s protection and empowerment. Coupled with a commitment to target hard-to-reach and marginalized communities, the IRC works at the intersection of these two longstanding sectors to provide integrated primary healthcare (PHC) services and prevention of, and support to, victims of gender-based violence in host and refugee communities alike.

International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a new partner of the J&J Secondment Program. This year, one J&J employee will take on a Lion Secondment to support the NGO on a part-time, virtual strategic advisory assignment (20%, 4 months) to provide assistance to the IRC Health Program in accomplishing its long term advocacy ambition in Jordan for integrating Community Health into the public health system of the country.
