Empowering Change
on the frontlines of health

Hand in Hand International creates community saving groups made up mostly by women who support each other, save together and learn together. Group members are trained to develop small businesses that make the most of their skills and potential. In many cases where microloans are provided, thanks to group support, they are always paid back. Hand in Hand International also helps entrepreneurs scale up their businesses by connecting them to larger markets.

Hand in Hand International was a partner of the Secondment Program from 2016 until 2019. In total, 5 J&J secondees have taken part in a long-term secondment.

Meeting women where they are: my secondment with hand in hand in Kenya

Positive, long-term impact to the NGO partner

In 2016, Hand in Hand International became a partner of the Secondment Program and, to date, three Johnson & Johnson employees have been seconded to the NGO’s headquarters in London, supporting the organization in business development and corporate fundraising within specific geographical regions, with a further secondee joining in 2018. Each secondee is selected based on their own cultural knowledge and the specific needs of the role to deliver a positive, long-term impact to the NGO partner.
